Capsis Hotel was very nice but the view left a bit to be desired

Sunday 30th January

The highway to Thessaloniki is truly spectacular at times
But I wasn't expecting quite so much snow
A wander round the town and we spot my new boots in a posh shoe shop
In case you can't read the ticket €69 reduced to €44
You may remember that I bought mine from an undisclosed source on a Tuesday morning
For

Thanks to Deb & to Sandra for feedback on the books
Great to be able to introduce something that I have enjoyed
(Thanks again to Nanablu)
Yes, I would like to read more Alan Titchmarsh please....
I went to Kotsovolos this morning
Olympus T100 for €89
It might actually be a good price - would like more choice though !
And it is raining.................

Saturday 22nd January

This was the day's progress on the BBQ

Meanwhile the cloud rolled down the mountain & threatened rain
Hard to believe when you only see Greece in the summer

Off for a well earned drink at Bill's Bar
But no peace for the wicked !
Maggie has been painting while Bill is away & needed help to put the pictures back up

Book Club

I never knew that Alan Titchmarsh wrote novels
Bit sad, but I really enjoyed it
The Mail on Sunday said
"Humorous, light-hearted and unpretentious.
Titchmarsh's book is strengthened by authenticity.
Ideal for romantic gardeners"
Not sure you need to be a gardener ?

Sorry I forgot

We went up to check on the houses over the week-end
All fine
Thanks, Paul & Cathy for the lemon
But have a look at this one that Pete & Alison had at Katoghi !

Ooh eer .........

I really enjoyed this book
although I would not have picked it up without a recommendation from Janet & David
A family saga in Germany from 1899 to 1945
readable history from a period I knew very little about

6th January - Epiphany

The day that the wise man brought a gift to the baby Jesus
OK -

I had better get knitting before next year !

Wednesday 5th January

Good news that the huge hole in the by-pass has been filled
and I suppose the bin is as good as anything to stop cars driving over the wet cement
Then the cone is to stop you hitting the bin ?
Sometimes I really love this country !!

A Good Night at Bill's

Twelfth Night approaches but the bar is still looking very festive!

And Chris very cheerful..

We even got a tour of the technical stuff
Thanks Bill

Tuesday 4th January

Life seems pretty quiet (dull ????) at the momment so I thought of taking January off from the Blog ???
The most exciting thing today was a trip to Vonitsa market
and Paul bought eels...
YUK...
We should think ourselves lucky
in Australia deadly snakes are swimming in the flooded houses
I've just got them in my freezer
Maybe I'll keep going for a few more days
Maybe next it will be a crocodile....
